SmartIndian Anandiba Joshi was one of the first Indian women to qualify as a doctor.
She started studying medicine in Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania at the age of 19 and got her M.D. degree in 1886, at a time when girls' education wasn't considered important in the country.
As we celebrate our 68th year of being a free nation, let's remember her words - 'My soul is moved to help the many who cannot help themselves'
She made India a bolder nation, and we at Smartivity thank her for this. Click here to know more.
